New Zealand on bicycle day by day
Dag 2Besökte ett museum inne i Christchurch där de visade allt från dinosaurier och uppstoppade fåglar till Mauri-kultur från 500 år sedan. Cyklade även runt inne i centrum och man kan fortfarande se spår från jordbävningen 2011 då halva stan blev förstörd och 185 personer dog. Centrum har inte riktigt byggts upp sedan dess. På ett torg har de ställt upp bunkrar som de har affärer, banker, cafen och postkontor i.Checkade in på en camping utanför centrum, precis bredvid en stor rugbyarena. Day 2Visited a museum in Christchurch where they showed everything from dinosaurs and stuffed birds to Mauri culture from 500 years ago. We also rode around town and saw traces from the earthquake in 2011 where half the city got destroyed and 185 people died. The city centre hasn't really been built up again after that. In one square they have put up containers in which they have set up shops, banks, cafe's and postoffices.We checked in to a camping outside the city centre, right next to a big rugby arena.
Dag 3Införskaffade lite grejer som vi saknade, bl a lite varmare kläder, batterier m.m. På kvällen pratade vi lite med ett par som campar bredvid oss, fast i en campervan. Cliff och Emma, från Sydafrika och Irland. De berättade att det är en rugbymatch imorgon på arenan bredvid oss. Sydafrikanska "The Sharks" mot Nya Zeeländska "Cruzadors". Day 3 Bought some stuff that we were missing, some warmer clothes, batteries and more.. In the evening we talked to a couple that are camping next to us but in a campervan. Cliff and Emma, from South Africa and Ireland. They told us there is a rugby game on tomorrow night at the arena next to us. The South African "The Sharks" vs the New Zealand "Cruzadors".
