Now we have been here for a few days and it is lovely, we live right by the sea. And it's 29 degrees in the water! The first night we started with the theoretical. The second day we learnt how to put together the equipment and then we were in the pool for three hours practicing skills. For example: to take the mask on and off under water. Or being able to share air with your friend if he or she should happen to be out of air. Or the easiest way to find the regulator if it accedentaly would fall out of your mouth.

Tredje dagen skulle vi först göra ett teoretisk prov på morgonen och sedan göra våra två första dyk i havet. Jag och Alex hade inte fattat att provet skulle vara den dagen, vi hade tänkt plugga stenhårt den kvällen inför provet som vi trodde skulle vara nästa dag. Men så var det inte. Vi hade gjort alla hemläxor vi hade fått och lyssnat uppmärksamt såklart. Men jag hade ändå tänkt plugga mer. Det behövdes inte, jag nailade provet med 100 % rätt! Och Alex klarade det också lätt som en plätt.

The third day we would first do a theoretical test in the morning and then make our first two dives in the sea. Me and Alex had not realised he test would be that day. We had planned to study really hard that night and that the test would be the next day. But it was not. We had done all the homework and listened attentively of course. But I had still planned to study more. It wasn't needed, it was an easy test and I nailed it with 100% correct answers! And Alex made it too. Too easy ;)

Så, på eftermiddagen gjorde vi våra två första dyk! Det var superhäftigt! Man känner sig viktlös och fri. Och så finns det en massa fina fiskar och koraller att titta på. 
Nästa dag (igår) gjorde vi två till dyk och sedan var kursen klar! Så nu är vi certifierade open water divers. Lätt som en plätt. Idag ska jag och Alex starta nästa kurs, som kallas "advanced", då får man lära sig mer om hur man planerar sitt dyk och att navigera under vattnet osv. 

So, in the afternoon we made our first two dives! It was super cool! You feel weightless and free. And you see a lot of beautiful fish and coral.
The next day (yesterday) we did another two dives and then the course was completed! So now we are certified open water divers. Piece of cake. Today me and Alex are starting the next course, called "advanced", then we will learn more about how to plan the dives and to navigate under water and so on.

Igår när vi dök så var det en valhaj i området. Några andra som dök samtidigt såg den. Men vi såg den inte dessvärre.....Nästa gång kanske.

Yesterday when we were diving there was a whale shark in the area. Some other divers that were there at the same time saw it. But we did not see it unfortunately ..... Maybe next time.
